The partnership of Waters & Patterson ended after only two years. "...By 1851, Franklin Waters and George W. Patterson, Jr. had formed a partnership, renaming the manufactory Waters & Patterson and noting their office on Water Street. But “limitation of time according to copartnership agreement” led to the dissolution of the firm as of Feb. 1, 1853, as noted in the Westfield Messenger of March 31, 1853."     From Westfield Historian Marybelle Beigh and posted by Steve Tall at Blade Forums.
