ELVIS COSTELLO AND THE ATTRACTIONS - ARMED FUNK TOUR - MARCH 31ST, 1979 - AT THE PALLADIUM - TICKETThe big event in rock this weekend is named Elvis Costello, who's appearing almost everywhere, it seems. Mr. Costello has emerged as the most critically acclaimed and commercially successful of all the British new‐wave rock artists, and his outward air of implacable hostility toward everybody and everything can't conceal the ingenuity and subtlety of his songs and the range of their emotions. Mr Costello and his band, the Attractions, are on a tour just now, which brings them to the Capitol Theater in Passaic, N.J., tonight, and to the Palladium on 14th Street tomorrow night.
And on April Fool's Day, Sunday, Mr. Costello will engage in an unusual mini-tour that will take him to three different Manhattan clubs in one night. He'll be at the Lone Star Cafe for a 6 P.M. show, at the Bottom Line at 9:30 P.M and at Great Gildersleeves at 1 A.M. Tickets for all these appearances have long since been sold out — the three club dates through a lottery organized by WNEW‐FM. But the Bottom Line makes standing room available to those willing to wait in line. It costs .50.
