    The M&M'S Story
    Mr. Forrest E. Mars first introduced M&M'S Plain Chocolate Candies, Sr. in 1941, starting a consumer love affair that continues to this day. In 1950 the now-infamous letter "m" was added along with the slogan "Look for them on every piece" to distinguish the actual M&M'S product from inferior imitations that quickly sprang up. Initially, they used the color black to print the "m" on each piece, but in 1954 was changed to white paired with the introduction of M&M'S Peanut Chocolate Candies. M&M'S quietly continued as one of the United States' favorite candies until, once again, this popular product made noise in the 1980S, becoming the first candy in space on the first space shuttle. After becoming the "Official Snack Foods of the Olympic Games" in 1984, M & M's candidates went global, expanding distribution into Asia Pacific, Australia, Europe, and even Russia! After introducing M & M'S Peanut Butter Chocolate Candies in the U.S. in 1989, a kaleidoscope of twenty-one colored M & M'S Milk Chocolate Candies through selected specialty candy stores and the internet. In 2000 M&M'S were dubbed "The Official Candy of the New Millenium" appropriate since MM is the Roman numeral for 2000. The M&M'S Character, Ms. Brown, debuted at the Super Bowl in 2012. In 2017, The M&M'S Candies products arrived in India, seventy-five years after their creation and initial sales in the U.S. The new M&M'S Caramel Candies were also launched in 2017 and continue to delight candy lovers to this date.
